HOW TO PREPARE YOUR HOUSE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

PRE-SHOOT CHECKLIST

GENERAL GUIDELINES

 

The photo-shoot should take no more than 1-2 hours (house bigger than 3,000 sq ft may take more time). We will be photographing both the inside and outside of your home including all major rooms. You can have a direct impact on how well your home will look in the photos by following these guidelines.

 

 

INSIDE THE HOUSE

 

___ All Adults, Children, Infants, and pets must be contained away from the photo shoot area.

___  Remove all visible clutter, magazines, trash cans, dishes, toys and ornaments from view.

___ Replace burnt out light bulbs in all lamps & light fixtures.

___ Clear all clutter and soaps from counters in kitchen and bathroom areas.  Hang towels neatly. Make the bathrooms sparkle.

___ Remove personal items and family photos from view and calendars, etc. from the refrigerator.  Make the stainless steel refrigerator door sparkle.

___ Clean mirrors and glass surfaces.

___ Minimize knick-knacks.

___ Make the beds and arrange all rooms for viewing.

___  Open shades and tilt blinds.

___  Turn On all Lamps & Lights.

___  All fans off, Fireplace On.

 

 

 

OUTSIDE THE HOUSE

 

___ Remove all vehicles from driveways and area in front of the house.

___ Remove garbage cans, garden tools, toys, bikes, and visible hoses from the landscape.

___ Prepare the yard and sweep the entrance, driveways and sidewalks.

___ Prepare spas, pools and entertainment areas for photos.

___ Sweep and prepare decks, picnic tables, and other outside areas for photography. Uncover grills.

 

 

 

 

 

NOTE:

Photographers are not allowed to move furniture, clean or dust, move garbage, pickup or move clutter or toys.

The home must be ready for the photographer when photographer arrives.  If an extended wait is required, the photo shoot will be rescheduled and additional charges might apply.
